THE CONCERT BAND

The Concert Band is approx 25-30 musicians strong and is configured in a typical concert/wind band set up that includes brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. On occasions the Band invites specialist musicians such as vocalists, keyboard players and others to join in to add that extra bit of sparkle when they are playing something extra special!

THE BIG BAND

The BRNC Big Band is a very popular ensemble drawn from the musicians of the Concert Band with a few specialist musicians and vocalists added in to compliment the team. They have a wide ranging repertoire that includes anything from Glenn Miller to Michael Buble. They regularly perform at local venues throughout the calendar year to sell out audiences.

drums

The Corps of Drums provides a traditional Naval ceremonial ensemble to the Band. Emulating the style and traditions of the world famous Royal Marines Corps of Drums, they are a popular feature for concerts. They regularly perform as a stand alone unit carrying out a variety of drum displays and mess beatings in Britannia Royal Naval College and beyond at special request.

SMALLER ENSEMBLES

The band is very fortunate to have some very accomplished musicians amongst its instrumentalists. These include instrumental soloists, vocalists and those who play more than one instrument. This enables it to field a range of smaller ensembles from brass and woodwind quintets to string quartets, chamber groups and even duets.
