Phil Hayward

Phil enjoyed a distinguished career in the Royal Marines Band Service, travelling extensively across the world from the Falklands Islands to Fiji. He served aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia carrying out several Royal Tours which included a total circumnavigation of the globe. Later in his military career Phil was appointed as the Drum Major to the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines at BRNC and at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines. After leaving the Forces, Phil worked for large corporates including BT, Amey and Chubb as a Project Manager and later set up the successful holiday letting company, Blueriver Cottages which continues to trade in Dartmouth today, but under new ownership. He plays First trumpet in the Concert Band and the small ensembles. In his spare time he teaches steel band music and enjoys running and walking. Phil is also a Kayak Instructor and Private Pilot, he likes to keep himself busy!
